ST. KEVIN PARISH MISSION STATEMENT

We are a Catholic Christian community striving to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Nourished by the Eucharist and enlightened by the Work of God, our Pastor, Parish Staff and Parishioners welcome all.

With faith in His Gospel, we are called to love as Jesus loves and, therefore, serve our community through the sharing of time, talents and treasure to support programs of evangelization and social justice.

Our commitment encompasses serving the youth through education, sports and formation. We seek to develop services for the elderly and homebound. Finally, we wish to challenge and sustain all parishioners through spiritual and educational activities.

GOALS

Goal #1 - Community - to build a welcoming parish community where all are part of one family.

The overall guiding principles of this goal entail the following:

A. Develop strong, mutually beneficial relations between all ethnic, cultural and language groups in the parish through outreach.

B. Address the needs of the senior adult population.

C. Identify and promote leadership opportunities for parishioners to share their time, talents and treasure.

D. Increase the quantity and improve the quality of communications throughout our Parish.

Goal #2 - Youth - to foster active participation and spiritual development of children, teens and young adults.

The overall guiding principles of this goal entail the following:

A. Increase youth participation in liturgical ministries.

B. Support and strengthen all the current parish youth programs.

C. Create a Young Adult program.

Goal #3 - Education - to strengthen the Parish School and the School of Religious Education program and develop and a Faith Formation and Adult Education Program.

The overall guiding principles of this goal entail the following:

A. Promote knowledge and practice of the Catholic faith.

B. Provide financial stability to the school.

C. Provide relevant religious education that nurtures spirituality and teaches all our parishioners to live the Gospel.

The Parish Pastoral Council is an advisory council to the Pastor who, through consultation with parishioners, offers advice to the Pastor regarding the possible implementation of various programs that might further meet the needs of parish life.
